According to survey results released this week by Pew Research Center, two-thirds of Americans surveyed believe that much of the work currently done by humans will be taken over by robots and computers within the next 50 years. But—perhaps surprisingly—an even greater majority believe that their own job will not be impacted.
Pew conducted the survey of 2,001 American adults between June 10 and July 12, 2015. According to the survey results, 65% of respondents believed that within 50 years, robots and computers will do much of the work currently done by humans. Fifteen percent believe that such an outcome will “definitely” happen, while 50% believed it will “probably” happen.
